Before issuing the certificate, the authorized bodies conduct studies confirming that: agrochemicals, hormonal preparations and other chemical means of protection and growth stimulation are not used in the production of products; genetic engineering is not used, products containing GMOs are not used in the production; hydroponics, ionization is not used; there are no food additives, dyes and flavor enhancers of chemical origin in the products, and the packaging does not belong to the harmful environment.
Producers who use the “organic products” sign, without having an official certificate, may be subject to administrative punishment, Roskachestvo clarified. However, manufacturers can still call their product “eco” and “bio”, even if it is not related to organic production, so Roskachestvo reminds customers of vigilance and when choosing organic products advises them to look for the appropriate sign or QR code leading to the register of the Ministry of Agriculture.
